RETURNING

Layne Nixon (pictured)- Nixon had an exceptional year as a Freshman. The Woodlands graduate led the roadrunners for most of the year including a 16th place finish at the Southland Conference Championships. He continued his success on the track running 15:02 for the 5000m.

Michael Cook- Michael had a very successful freshman campaign. The 2008 1600m State runner-up was the lead runner for the roadrunners at the South Central Regional race. His impressive 3:53 on the track qualified him in the 1500 at the NCAA Regional Meet.

Corey Vargas- One of two upper classman in the top 5 in 2008 Corey will add senior leadership. Corey is coming off a nice track season running 3:58 1500m.

Cole Reveal Stepped in as a freshman and did a good job. Cole placed 28th at the Southland Conference Championships. Look for Cole to continue to improve.

FORECAST

Last year this team placed 6th at the Southland Conference for the 2nd year in a row. The team is loaded with young talent that got valuable experience last year. The addition of freshman Jim Stitt will only add to the young talent pool. Brandon Chiuminetta- Redshirted in 2008. He had a good campaign as a freshman so look for Brandon to be a top 5 contributor in 2009. The team is a top ten team that has good young talent and Vargas/Orndoff adds Senior leadership
