Pate has been one of the big dawgs on the Canyon Randall machine for the last three years and she returns this season for her senior year.
Last year, she cracked the top ten in the UIL 5A state meet with her 18:02.90 for sixth place overall as she led Randall to another team trophy. She has gradually progressed each year by time and place. In 2017, she really hit her stride at the end of the season. To go along with the race at state, she ran a 17:33.83 on a tough Region 1 three mile course.
Pate will try lead Randall back to the state meet and on top of the awards stand again in what will be another crazy 5A season.
