The Region 1-6A girls came into the meet with 2:10 and under times. Those three ladies shot out and made this a tough and painful race for the entire field. In the end, it was their racing that pulled out the trace along to a fast finish with all girls running 2:15 and under. El Paso Coronado
senior Jennelle Jaeger Darakj
took the win in 2:07.40, Isabel Van Camp
was second in 2:08.50, and Liah Collins
sprinted home for third in 2:10.96.
The race came in without that much luster and no real outstanding times. That definitely changed in the race. Coppell's Jackson Walker took it out and led for most of the race. However, Robert (Sam) Whitmarsh (1:51.73) has stayed true to his season long race strategy and struck in the last 200m to take the win over Walker (1:53.19), followed by Victor Zuniga in 1:53.37.
