MileSplit Boys PreSeason Individual Top #8 - 14

13. Grant Wilcox - Plano East

Injury kept Grant Wilcox off the track for the most part in 2019, but his 2018 cross country season was good enough to solidify him as one of the top returners despite having not run a meaningful race during track season. Outside of Nike Cross Regionals where he was 21st, he finished right near the front of every race. He either won or finished second in every regular season invitational and finished sixth in the 6a state championship race. He also holds solid personal bests on the track from his sophomore year as he ran 4:18 for 1600 meters and 9:19 for 3200 meters. He will enter the 2019 season as the number 3 from last year's 6a state meet. Wilcox was able to run two races at the end of 2019 track season and while they weren't notable performances it does mean he was able to get healthy and if he's been training since April for cross country, there is no reason he can't improve on his junior year and be one of the best in Texas.
