The Nike South Invitational was good with a lot of talent in the fields. In retrospect, one of the most impressive fields was the Elite Girls field.
There were 12 girls who ran 19:30 and under and ten girls teams with legitimate shots to qualifying for the state meet.
Here is what we learned:
- Katy Tompkins has found a heck of a runner in Addison Stevenson. Stevenson transferred in from Alaska last year and made her mark in track as a talented jumper. This is her first XC season and she was fourth this weekend and has a 18:38 PR.
- Kingwood continues to prove they are the best team in Region 3. The Lady Mustangs ran a 19:34 team average this weekend with a 15 second 1-5 split. They're top four scorers this weekend finished in 13-16 place consecutively all within 1.20 seconds of each other.
