Meet Preview: State Meet Qualifiers From Region 2

3A Girls

Based on the numbers we have seen, last year's region runners-up Mineola looks to be in the drivers position. Unless things go wrong, they could have a cushion and room for error, but you can't count out the defending regional champs Van Alstyne.

Here are the girls top four team finishes:

1. Mineola

2. Whitesboro

3. Pilot Point

4. Van Alstyne

Individually, Peyton Muntz has the best time heading into Monday. However, Sydney Hornbuckle and Brisa Hernandez can both light it up and will make their own push for a regional championship.

3A Boys

Last year Pilot Point ran away with the district title followed by Whitesboro in second. Van Alstyne and Commerce were in third and fourth. Those four teams could all do it again. The push will come from Mineola , Atlanta, and Grand Saline.

4. Commerce

Individually, the race could be exciting if any of the guys can run with Dagen Ward. Ward comes in with a 16:26 SB. His biggest challengers will be Ethan Hite, John Klein, Hayden Moussa, and Juan Arreguin. All of those guys have run under 17 minutes this season.
