Fort Worth Paschal senior distance runner Whit Dennis has wrapped up his recruiting. This afternoon, he committed to the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) via instagram.
Dennis has enjoyed a great 2019 cross country season that has him ranked in the top 100 nationally. He opened up the season with PR 15:10 and has consistently run sub 16 all season long.
On the track, Dennis has PRs of 4:23 and 9:31.61 making him a good fit for the Ole Miss program. Ole Miss has enjoyed success at the SEC and NCAA levels in the 1500m and up. They recently won their second consecutive SEC cross country conference championships on the men's side and they have a top 10 ranking.
They have also done an excellent job at recruiting Texas high school distance runners. Former Texas high school athletes currently on the Ole Miss roster are Cade Bethman and Parker Scott for the boys and Ana Elkin and Cate Tracht, on the girls squad.
Former Texas athletes who attained All-Americans status for Ole Miss include Robert Domanic and Trevor Gilley.
