The 2025 indoor track and field season produced exceptional speed in the boys 400m, with four Texas athletes breaking 47.20 and earning spots inside the state's all-time top-10 indoor performances. Three of those athletes have since graduated, but two, Jordan Riggs, who clocked a remarkable 46.48 for the No. 4 all-time mark, and Andrew Wright, who clocked 47.18 for the No. 8 all-time mark, return for 2026 and will again be major forces in the event.
Joining them are two more standout returners: Abram Reagan (47.66) and Christian Witcher (47.78), both of whom dipped under 48 seconds during last year's indoor season. Beyond that quartet, five additional returning athletes broke the 49-second barrier in 2025, forming a deep and competitive field for the upcoming campaign.
