W2W4: What To Watch For At Spartan Invitational

AJ Green

AJ Green is coming a long way to get some action as the Eastview HS (Apple Valley, MN) senior is heading to Texas to get some Lone Star competition. Green is entered in the 400m and the 800m where he has 49.70 and 1:49.83 PRs and ended the 2019 as the US No. 2 ranked half miler in the country.

The University of Kansas signee should compete well this weekend depending on his fitness level. He has a 4:19.06 PR in the 1600m, so he should be able to handle the workload this weekend. Will he have what it takes to drop AJ Green types of races?

In the 400m, he should; there is no shortage of 400m runners in the state of Texas and there are plenty in this meet who should help him run under 49. Robert Gregory may potentially line up and he has 46 potential if his fitness is good enough. Bryce McCray and Cameron Bonner have also both run in the 48 range and better, so Green will get a push.
