W2W4: What To Watch For At Spartan Invitational

The boys sprints will be equally as loaded as the girls events.

Auhmad Robinson

Last year, Robinson won a team state championship with his Klein Forest teammates. During the season, he was making his individual presence felt by starting things off with a superb indoor season by going 7.02, 21.20, and 47.94.

The Stephen F. Austin signee will compete in the 100m and the 200m this weekend, he is as exciting of a runner as there is, so take the time to see him compete. Robinson's range is unique and potent, but it will be put to the test at the Spartan Inv.

The longer the sprint is, the better he gets so he'll be tested in the shorter sprints, especially the 100m. David Foster, Jevaughn Stanley, Everett Tippins, Isaih Banks, and Erin Brown can all run with the best of them and they'll make a fantastic field for Robinson. Oklahoma sprinters Jalen Nero and Samuel Fischer will also test the waters.

Robert Gregory Jr.

Gregory is another defending state champion entered in this meet, he won the 2019 UIL 5A 200m with his 21.12 performance.

Gregory was just getting warmed up in his senior season with a 21.64 9 (indoors) and 21.54 outdoors. The Texas Christian University (TCU) commit will compete in both the 200m and 400m this weekend.

In the 200m, he'll line up against a strong list of names who could all challenge him. Auhmad Robinson, David Foster, Isiah Banks, Everett Tippins, Erin Brown, and more will make it challenging for Gregory.

The 400m will be the first individual race of the day for Gregory and it will also have some studs for him to line up against, but he could take that race easily if he is in prime shape and ready to go.
