Panhandle Girls To Watch For This Cross Country Season

Brooke Latham - Amarillo

Latham was a flat out stud for Amarillo last year as a sophomore. She was a top three runner for the state's third best UIL 5A team.

Amarillo wants to bring home another trophy this year and Latham becomes even more important in those plans. If she can build on last year's success, they'll be in the running. She was a front runner all year long in the Panhandle area and she ran her best at big meets like the McNeil Invite, UIL Region 1 XC Championships, and at the UIL State Cross Country Championships.

Latham is as good of an athlete as there is in cross country. She can go from distance to the jumps and hurdles on the track. Before COVID ended track last spring, she ran 1:04.57 and 2:25.59 for PRs last year. Watch out for her on the courses this fall.
