Henry Fierro And Port Aransas Advance To 2A State Champs

Last year, they finished third and fourth and now they're state champions.

Poolville senior Henry Fierro has improved every year and now as a senior, he is the state champion. After a fourth place individual finish in 2019, Fierro used a kick over the last 400m to get the win over Brackett junior Abraham Morales who also improved from 13th last year to the runner-up position.

Port Aransas (PA) was on the podium last season when they took the bronze trophy down to the South Texas coast. Yesterday, they used top 10 finishes by Paul Snow (6th) and Kyler Spaeth (10th) to score only 53 points and 40 ahead of Fierro's Poolville squad.

The PA boys used a 54 second split to dominate their way to the top of the podium.
