January is usually the track and field indoor season. In typical years, this weekend would be reserved for the Texas A&M High School Indoor Classic. Being in the COVID world, that isn't the case this year.
Even though New Year's day was just last weekend, there will be an outdoor track competition in the state of Texas. The North Texas Winter 1600m, hosted by Southlake Running Co. is this evening in Southlake (6:00 p.m. 800 North White Chapel, Southlake, Texas 76092) and will showcase the early season fitness of many of the top milers in Texas and Oklahoma.
