Watch Freshman Allie Love Pace Fast Girls 1600m Race

We were introduced to Colleyville Heritage freshman distance runner Allie Love in the Fall during he cross country season. Then, we were quickly made aware how aggressive of a runner she is as she started the cross season off fast and finished with a fifth place at the UIL 5A state meet and three sub 18 minute races.

Now we know that she might make a big impact during the track season as well; Love ran a 5:05.12 on Saturday evening after playing two soccer games in a tournament earlier in the day showing her stamina and current fitness. She took the lead right before the 800m split and opened a 10 yard gap on the field.

Rounding out the top three were two Lucas Lovejoy runners who are both young stars in their own right; sophomore Amy Morefield and freshman Kailey Littlefield also put in impressive performances. Morefield had her freshman track season abbreviated by COVID-19 showed she is just as formidable on the track by placing second in 5:08.19 and Littlefield's 5:12.51 also opened eyes as another young runner to watch.

Rounding out the top five were sophomore Cassandra O'Pry of North Crowley (5:12.32) and Flower Mound junior Allison Buemi (5:12.73).  Not to go without notice was a six pack of Southlake Carroll Dragons placing sixth through eleventh, but more impressively all running 5:18 and under (Kaylie Cox -5:14.54, Ava Bushaw - 5:15.77, Abigail McIlvain - 5:17.18, Olivia Jones - 5:17.18, Audrey Dunn - 5:17.21, and Mia Tesoriero - 5:18.42.)
