Houston Stratford junior Emanuel Galdino is having a superb junior year. In the fall, cross country started and ended successfully and now the track season looks to be following the same path. Similarly, it will also lead to the state track meet, just like in the fall.
Galdino had perhaps the best regional track meet of anyone in the state; he won the Region 3-6A 3,200m title and was second in the 800m, and then finished third in the 1,600m qualifying him for to the UIL 6A Track and Field championships in all three events. His efforts also led to three PRs that weekend (1:52.61, 4:13.41, and 9:14.61).
Galdino and Houston Stratford head coach, Shawn Siemers talked with MileSplit about the season, the upcoming state meet, as well as their decision to drop the 800m.
