The 4A Girls 3200 was a fantastic display of talent. Betty Bajika of Kennedale led through the first 400 with a split of 1:19.49. She hung onto her lead through the 2nd lap. The field started spreading out heading into the backstretch of the 3rd lap.
Breanna Stuart a junior from Canyon shot to the front at the 1200m mark with a split of 1:20.68. Stuart began to distance herself from the pack in the 4th lap with sophomore Abi Bass from Melissa in second. Stuart added to her lead in the 5th lap with a split of 1:22.01, Bass continued hanging onto 2nd with a 1:23.50 split.
In the bell lap, Bass started inching up on Stuart, but Stuart hit the jets to stave off the late rally by Bass. Down the backstretch, Stuart of Canyon finished strong and took the Gold with a time of 10:47.93, Bass from Melissa finished 2nd with a time of 10:54.03, and Lexi Maul with a time of 11:10.85 from Pampa took 3rd.
