14 Grey Mendenhall (The John Cooper School)

The John Cooper Sophomore ran under 17 minutes twice this season. His true 5K PR was 16:59, which he saved for the state meet and 14th place overall.

13 Michael Campbell (Houston Christian)

Houston Christian senior Campbell was solid and consistent all year long. His first and slowest 5K of the season was 17:08 and the fourth and final was a 17:03 PR at state good for 15th place.

12 Asa McCaleb (Dallas St. Mark's)

McCaleb had a great sophomore year for St. Mark's where he went sub 17 two times this season. A 16:36 at the Garmin MileSplit TX XC Inv. was his PR along with sixth at North Zone meet followed by 12th at state in 16:55.

11 Clark Cooper (Dallas St. Mark's)

Another building block for St. Mark's future is sophomore Cooper. He ran three sub 17 minute 5K. He went 16:36 at the Garmin MileSplit TX XC Inv. for a PR and then finished fourth at North Zone meet in 16:39 and then 16:59 at state for 13th place.

10 James Rush (Houston Kinkaid)

After going eighth at the South Zone, the Houston Kinkaid senior ran a 16:55 PR at state.

9 Sam Marino (Houston Episcopal)

The Houston Episcopal sophomore was 12th at the South Zone meet and saved his fastest 5K for state when he went 16:54.40 for 10th at state.

8 Luke Rakowitz (Cistercian Prep)

Cistercian Prep senior Rakowitz had a slow start to the season, but that didn't stop him from picking things up when it counted. He had top ten finishes all year long and then went sub 17 at the right time of the season. He ran 16:55.80 for fifth at the North Zone followed by 16:50.20 at state for ninth place.
