7 Jake Gooch  (Austin St. Andrews)

St. Andrews junior Gooch ran sub 17 minutes all season long with the one exception being the South Zone meet (17:25). He PRed at Hoka One/McNeil Inv. at 16:30.40 and then was seventh at Maverick Ramble (16:31) and seventh at state (16:39).




6 Raja Mehendale (Dallas St. Mark's)

Possibly the next St. Marks star, sophomore Mehendale dropped five straight 16:40 and under races. He was fourth at Maverick Ramble, third at North Zone, and finished eight at state.




5 James Boutte Jr. (Houston Christian)
The SPC state meet sixth place finisher was the Houston Christian sophomore. Boutte consistently ran in the mid 16s this season. He Pred with a 16:22 at Chile Pepper and then had three top six finishes. He was sixth at St. John's Maverick Ramble and third at South Zone.




4 William Dunaway (Austin St. Andrews)

The St. Andrews junior put together an awesome season. Things started well at three UIL meets as he totalled six 5K races under 16:20 this season. Dunaway finished the season placing fourth at both the South Zone and the state meet. 




3 Kyle Hartman (Houston Christian)

Houston Christian senior finished the season strong with top five finishes. He started the season off with a 16:10.20 at Chile Pepper and then ran a 16:06 PR at St. John's Maverick Ramble. He was second at the South Zone to eventual state champ and finished fifth at state.



2 Sahil Dodda (Dallas St. Mark's)

Dodda only had two losses on the season, at state to Sgouros and at Chile Pepper where he finished fourth in 15:10. The St. Marks senior went on to win the South Region Team Championships last weekend topping all the UIL studs in doing so.



1 Emmanuel Sgouros (Houston St. Johns)

The St. John's senior finally competed and won his state championship running away with the crown. His 15:06.80 was the second best time of the year, but it put a period on an undefeated season. Earlier in the season, Sgouros went 15:01 to win the Hoka One/McNeil Inv. over eventual UIL 5A and 6A state champs.
