The 2021 UIL 6A cross country state champion Natalie Cook (Flower Mound) added a national level win to her already spectacular senior cross country season.
She did so today by winning the Eastbay South Regional championship. Cook hadn't competed in the three weeks following the state meet until toeing the starting line today.
Her winning time was of 16:38 not only earned the Oklahoma State University signee a qualification to the Eastbay Nationals, but it was also the No. 3 all time girls 5,000m time on the Eastbay South Region course (formerly the Foot Locker South Region).
Cook replaced Weini Kelati at the third spot; Kelati who would win the 2019 NCAA Division 1 National Championship also went on to win the Foot Locker Nationals that season.
