UIL 2A Girls All-State First Team



Pharris improved big time after her freshman cross country season. She jumped from 56th at the 3-2A Region meet to a third place finish this season and what was a 13:04 PR at the time. She continued the drastic rate of progression by going 12:24 for seventh place at the state meet.


6 Madyson George (Christoval)


Only a freshman, George had the luxury of having another fellow freshman teammate to help navigate this season. George and teammate Presley Polk helped lead Christoval to a runner-up team finish at state. George finished fifth at Region 1-2A as well as at the state meet in a 12:18 PR.


5 Presley Polk (Christoval)


Christoval freshman didn't finish lower than third place all season long until the state meet; some of those races included wins. She led her Christoval squad and then was third at Region 1-2A and sixth at state in a 12:23 PR.


4 Cassidy Bilsing (Normangee)


Bilsing had runner-up finishes mostly all season long. Those second place finishes include at Region III Preview heading and McNeil Inv to girls in higher classifications. She would then finish behind Lindsey Gooch at district and regionals. Bilsing made a big jump leaving her best race of the season for the state championships to run 12:09 and finish fourth.




3 Lula Nolen (West Texas


Nolen won four consecutive races to start the season and then had a runner-up finish. She was eighth at the Region 1-2A, but then rebounded to finish third at the state championship in 12:09.




2 Isabella Jaime (Farwell)


Farwell freshman Jaime had a strong initial high school season. Her worst finishes of the season came at two big invitationals (4th). However, she was able to get things in check and get back down to runner-up finishes at Region 1-2A and state only losing to Kyla Kane. Jaime ran 12:06 and 12:09 in her final two races and had a PR of 11:59 earlier in the season.




1 Kyla Kane (Wellington)


Kane effectively won her third UIL 2A state championship and second consecutive. She didn't run much as she juggled cross country, basketball, and recruiting trips. After committing to West Texas A&M for basketball, she got into a training groove in time to win out through the championship season. She finished with a 12:17 to win Region 1-2A and 11:54 to dominate those championship races.
