Due to the confluence of an injured ankle and the pandemic, Micah Bell's freshman season never saw the track or the field. As a sophomore however, Bell made sure his presence was noticed. He captured gold in the long jump (23-06-00) at the SPC State Championships, ran second leg on the gold-medal 4x100, third leg on the gold-medal 4x400, and two second-place finishes in both the 100 and 200-meter dashes.
Now a highly sought-after junior cornerback, Bell enters the 2022 season ranked as SPC's top returner in the 100 (10.46w), 200 (21.54w) and long jump (23-06.00w.) As a corner who loves to hit, Bell helped Houston Kinkaid procure its 31st state title this past football season.
In the footsteps of his brother Dillon (who recently inked an NLI with the University of Georgia), Micah has offers from major powers like UT, Florida, Kentucky, Baylor, Michigan, Tennessee, and more. Yet he recognizes the value of speed and proclaims that all sports, all athletes can benefit from increasing one's speed.
Kinkaid possesses a talented squad with a singular goal: win a state title. Behind the leadership of Micah Bell and Coach Beckwith, this is an attainable goal.
