At the 2021 TAPPS State Track & Field Meet, Leah Klenke (Houston St. Agnes) swept the 800 / 1600 / 3200; in the process, she set the all-time TAPPS time in the 1600 at 4:55.90. An expectation heading into that meet, this year she may forego the 3200 in lieu of bolstering the St. Agnes 4x400.
Earlier this school year, she won the TAPPS 6A State Cross Country Meet in either her "second or third cross country meet ever."
A cousin of Shannon Klenke who won multiple TAPPS state titles for Duchesne Academy from 2009-11, Leah's aspirations are clear: Play professional soccer. An outstanding distance runner who could easily earn a TF/XC scholarship, she'll play DI soccer next year at Notre Dame.
