After an epic race, Houston St. John's senior Emmanuel Sgouros dishes on his No.1 All-Time race. This past weekend at the Arcadia Invitational, he ran 8:47.19 in the 3,200m to secure the best time by a Texas athlete.
That mark is better than the previous 8:49.12 set by Craig Nowak (Houston Cy Woods) back in 2012. Almost 10 years later, Sgouros now has the new standard and he gives insight to why he thought he could over a 12 second PR.
The University of Texas commit previously had not run faster than 9:01 and he shares his thoughts on competing in one of the best high school races in the event ever and his "I think I can get that," mindset entering the race.
