This was one of the most anticipated races of the entire weekend. It had four girls who entered the meet with sub 2:10 performances this season.
Isabel Conde De Frankenberg had the fastest time of 2:06.53, defending state champ Kailey Littlefield had a 2:07.50, Cameron McConnell had a 2:09.18, and Anastacia Gonzales had a 2:09.33 SB.
Littlefield and Frankenberg led at the break as eight girls packed up tight at the 200m in 29 seconds and the continued through the 300 in 48 seconds and at the 400m in 1:02 with Frankenberg leading.
Coming off the turn it was the four favorites in a line as Frankenberg and Littlefield pulled away coming through in 1:36. The two were side by side with 100m to go as the sprinter Littlefield overtook Frankenberg who had ran the 3,200m earlier.
Littlefield won with a 2:06.21 and new UIL 5A conference record closely follower by Frankenberg in 2:06.59 (also under the previous record), and Katy Jordan junior Tiyan Ogbeide was third in 2:11.87
Kailey Littlefield (1746) won her second UIL 5A 800m and in a new UIL 5A conference record time of 2:06.21
