Basketball star Jace Posey rode his sophomore momentum into this season. He just missed the award stand last year with his 6-7 PR and fourth place state meet finish.

This season, he flipped the whole thing on it's side.

He started the year off with a behemoth 6-10 jump at the Texas A&M Bluebonnet High School Invitational. Although it was just a runner-up finish, it was a big time PR and national level jump. From there, he would consistently jump 6-4 to 6-6 for the majority of the season. He was smooth and cool until he wasn't -- Posey immediately went off in the postseason.

A 6-8 win at Region 3-6A quickly accelerated at the state meet. He jumped all kinds of high in Austin when he went 7-4.25 for a UIL 6A state meet record, state title, and TX No. 4 All-Time.

Being the US No. 1 ranked high jumper, Posey is no longer just a solid basketball recruit, he is now an elite track and field recruit. He changed the family dynamics; he's not just the son of a two-time NBA champion and former NBA Assistant Coach (James Posey). He made his father the dad of a Texas UIL state champion.
