14.) Niamh Collins - Houston Stratford 

Collins had a big impact on the Spartans' 2021 cross country season.  She had her best performance of the year at the most important race of the season, the state meet. Collins turned in a time of 18:57.30 for a 46th place finish

Outdoors, she was impressive in the middle distances. She ran 2:14.96 in the 800m at Bridgeland Relays, 5:05.35 in the 1,500m at the Jesuit Spring Break Meet, she went 5:13.57 at the 1,600m at the Cain Relays, along with a 12:11.00 3,200m at Cy Springs Panther Invite.

As with the cross country season, the Stratford star finished her sophomore year at the UIL State Track & Field meet where she ran 9th place finish.

13.) Madison Morgan - Houston Episcopal 

The name may sound very familiarly folks. Morgan is ironically known for being on the racewalk scene but has demonstrated her speed on the cross country course and on the track during her freshman year at Houston Episcopal. 

During the 2021 cross country season Morgan opened the first meet at the Waxahachie Woodhouse Invitational running 18:41.90 on a short course. She would improve to a 18:26.50 at the Hoka One One/ McNeil Elite Invitational. As the season came to a close, Morgan helped take part of Houston Episcopal winning the state title at the SPC Championships where she finished 3rd overall running 19:04.90.

Morgan started off the 2022 indoor season at the Texas A&M High School indoor Classic where she ran the 2 mile running a time of 11:52.66, she also set personal records and won in the process in the one mile race walk and 1,500m race walk at New Balance Nationals. Outdoors, Morgan was ready to rock and roll, running 5:19.09 in the 1,600m at the Crusaders Invitational, and running 11:40.85 in the 3,200m at the SPC Championships.

12.) Jetzibe Trevino - Huffman- Hargrave 

Trevino has been one of the top UIL 4A distance runners over the past couple of years. During the 2021 cross country season, she won six of the nine races she competed in. In that time, she ran a 18:13.59  5K PR at the 3rd Annual Run The Dog Pound Invitational. She ran a 11:48.60 at the UIL State Championships to finish 10th overall. 

She opened the outdoor track season in the 3,200m run running 11:06.95 at the Lake Houston Relays. In the outdoor season, Trevion ran 2:27.48 in the 800m at the Barber Hill Pre-District Tune-up, 5:16.63 in the 1,600m at the UIL 4A Region 3 meet, and finished ninth in the 3,200m at the UIL State Track & Field Meet.

11.) Lydia Butler- Klein Oak 

Immediately from the start of the 2021 cross country season Butler and the lady panthers were running like sardines in a can; super compact and together. Butler's individual 5k season opener was similarly impressive in 18:24.50.

Butler finished her outstanding season with a 18:32.10 at the UIL State Cross Country Championships placing 25th overall. 

Fast-forward to the 2022 outdoor track season and Butler again rean impressively. The year ended with a 5:07.88 in the 1,600m at the Sam Mosley Relays, and 11:22.28 3,200m at the UIL 6A District 15 meet.

10.) Sophia Nguyen - Richmond George Ranch 

As a freshman last year, was on a roller coaster ride, but when it mattered most she came out on top as she finished 27th at the UIL State Cross Country meet. She had one of the fastest freshman marks of the meet running a time of 18:34.40. 

When the 2022 outdoor track season came around, Nguyen finished with a 5:00.28 in the 1,500m at the Katy Seven Lakes Relays, 5:04.44 at the UIL 6A District 20 meet in the 1,600m, 10:38.96 in the 3,000m at the Katy Seven Lakes Relays, and 11:12.40 at the William D Sirmon Relays.

When it came down to championship season, the Longhorn runner finished 3rd in both the 1,600m where she ran 5:13.91, and 11:27.02 in the 3,200m, just missing out on the state track meet.

9.) Liliana Campos - Conroe Oak Ridge 

The start to the 2021 cross country season was as good as Campos could've scripted, where she found herself running times that were leaps and bounds ahead of her freshman year performances.

Campos, a competitive volleyball player on one of the best teams in the state got the cross country started on a roll by running 11:45 for two miles and then 17:51.44 over three miles at the 2021 Klein ISD Invitational. She later set a personal record in the 5k by running 18:21.47 at the College Park Invite.

That was just the tip of the iceberg though, Campos was showing consistency when she ran back-to-back 18:33's at the UIL 6A District 13 & UIL 6A Region 2 Championships. 

Campos finished the outdoor track season with personal records thrown left and right running 2:25.19 over 800m at the Cain Relays, 5:17.28 over 1,600m at the UIL 6A District 13 meet, and ran a fast 3,200m time of 11:13.89 at the UIL 6A District 13 meet

8.) Elizabeth Winkler - Klein Oak  

During the 2021 cross country season Winkler had many standout times where she ended up finishing up the season with a personal record of 18:23.88 in the 5K at the College Park Invitational. Capping off the cross country season Winkler also played a big roll in the lady panthers reaching the heights they did at the UIL State Cross Country Championships where the panthers finished fifth as a team. Winkler contributed mightily to the team with a 51st place finish and a 18:59.70.

The indoor season saw Winkler run 2:22.92 in the 800m at the Texas A&M High School Indoor Classic. She finished the outdoor season by running several personal records of 2:18.28 in the 800m at the Cain Relays, 5:07.38 in the 1,600m at the Texas Distance Festival, and demonstrated her mental toughness in the 2,000m steeplechase where she ran a personal best of 7:19.30 at the Lovejoy Spring Distance Festival.
