Cedar Park junior Isabel Conde De Frankenberg was named the Gatorade Texas Girls Player of the Year Award for the 2022 cross country season. Gatorade awards each state's top girls and boys in each sport with their Player of the Year award for their performance in that season of action. Athletic excellence, academic achievement, and the display of exemplary character are the judgement areas. Last year, Natalie Cook of Flower Mound won the award for the Texas girls. Each state winner gets nominated to win the national award.
Conde De Frankenberg was the UIL 5A runner-up at the Nike South Invitational and the UIL 5A Cross Country State Championships. After the UIL championship season, she won the Teams South Regional Championships in The Woodlands, Texas and a week later was runner-up at the Champs South Regional in Charlotte, NC.
Those to regional level finishes earned Conde De Frankenberg the opportunity to compete in both national championship events. She placed sixth overall at the Team Cross Country Nationals in Portland, OR and 13th at the Champs National Cross Country Championships in San Diego, CA.
A total of eight meet wins during the season, her national level running, and top finishes in the national championships helped Conde De Frankenberg earn the award.
