Austin, Texas is the state capital, but in the running world, some think of it as the running mecca of the lone star state. The Austin metropolitan area produced many state medalists during the 2022 outdoor and cross country season.

With Austin being so well rounded on the distance running scene it's no surprise that there are many distance stars in all respected conferences such as UIL's very own Isabel Conde De Frankenberg (Cedar Park)Kevin Sanchez(Austin Vandegrift).

Then there are the Homeschool stars Isabella Edwards (Texas Independent Homeschool), Elianna Friedman (Austin Champions) and Judah Macias-Alexander (Leander Texas Homeschool), SPC's Audrey Wan(Austin St.Stephens), William Dunaway(St.Andrews Episcopal), and TAPPS's Gabriel Estrada(Austin St.Michaels), Emerson Therrien(Austin Waldorf).

This is just a hint of the talent that meets the eye. Check out table to see who the top returning distance runners are in the Austin area for the 2023 track and field season.
