With the track and field season now in full roll out for the 2023 season, we know for distance runners that means run the 3,200m early and at the beginning of the meet to then wait to run the 1,600m at the end of the meet. With the exception of a few who will race at 800m and the few early season meets with distance relays, that is the life of the athletes who compete in the longer distances.
However, there are distance festivals and carnivals becoming more frequent mid season that create events solely for the longer races during the track and field season. One of those meets is the one that just about started it all is the Texas Distance Festival.
