San Antonio Central Catholic senior Gary Mejia II is coming off the 2022 track and field season when he won the TAPPS 6A 110 meter hurdle state championship and was runner-up in the 300 meter hurdles. Now he is the TAPPS leading the league in both events.
Mejia is also tied for the second best high jump in TAAPS. He finished fourth last year at the state meet and will look to help contribute to Central Catholic's point total in the team championship race.
He talked with Stuart Kantor about his 2023 track and field season.
