Caden Thurman Runs away with the UIL 2A Boys 3200m Win

Wolfe City's Caden Thurman entered the 2A Boys 3200m as a huge favorite and he did nothing to disappoint as he went to the front just 200m into the race and never looked back en route to winning in 9:33.92.

Thurman was never challenged in the race and led by as much as 100m with two laps remaining. Behind Thurman, the race was a little more interesting with Stockdale's Taylor Warrick trying to stay with Thurman through the first few laps, but he eventually fell back. When he did, Waco Meyer's Marco Cunningham took the opportunity to try to move up.

Cunningham eventually passed Warrick with 700m remaining and was able to pull away from Warrick who finished with the bronze medal. Thurman will attempt to go for a second gold medal when he runs the 1600m in the evening.
