110 Meter Hurdles

Beckville junior JKoby Williams was the defending state champion and the top seed with his 14.44 regional mark. There were four other boys under 15.0 seconds including last year's runner-up Adam Hill (Albany) who had the second best seed time of 14.53.

The two-man race would come to fruition through the first hurdle, but Williams started to pull away by hurdle three. However, Hill not only looked strong, but he was strong and his power and clean technique pulled him side by side hurdles six and seven.

However, Williams pulled through over the last three barriers as he held on for a slim 14.26 to best Hill with a time of 14.36 for second.

Joining the repeating top two hurdlers in third was Jason Brazell (New Deal) in third with a time of 14.85.

The defending gold medalist from the 2022 State meet is Jkoby Williams, a junior from Beckville. Chai Whitmire, a junior from Refugio, was 6th last year in this race. The fastest seed time from regionals was Williams with a 39.54.

False start for their first try, called an unfair start.Gun was up for the second time and it was a smooth start over the first few hurdles Williams in lane 5 was trying to make it back to back gold medals.

All were pretty even and with 100m to go Adam Hill from Albany crossed the line first with a time of 38.75 with Cardwell coming in second 39.92 and Williams tripped at the finish line to capture the bronze medal with a time of 39.94.
