Samantha Humphries (Flower Mound) - Junior

Samantha Humphries was unable to defend her UIL 6A state title from 2022 when she finished sixth at the state meet. She was runner-up at the Region 1-6A championships in 2:10.91.

Winfrey's 2:13.23 was a little bit off her 2:10 personal record, but she was able run fast when it counted and ran a conservative 2:15.02 to win the UIL 4A state meet that allowed her to return for a state meet race in the 300H. She won her third consecutive UIL 4A 800m state title and perhaps only a shortened COVID season was able to keep her from winning four.
