Texas Athletes Run Well At Brooks PR Inv.

Girls 1 Mile

The UIL 6A runner-up Samantha Humphries came in with a 4:41.93 mile personal best from the HOKA Festival of Miles earlier this month. She ran a close 4:42.74 for a sixth place finish at Brooks. The Flower Mound junior strung together laps of 1:08.97, 1:10.43, 1:12.61, and 1:10.71.


Girls and Boys 400m

Michaela Mouton (Killeen), the UIL 5A state champion placed third in the girls 400m. She came up with a 54.14, which wasn't a PR, but it was fast enough to get her on the podium.

The UIL 6A state champion Jonathan Simms (Allen) finished up runner-up at Brooks with a 45.90 admn new PR. This is US No. 5 and TX No.10 all-time performance as he becomes the 14th Texas boy to run sub 46 seconds (-missing Michael Cannon 45.48 - 1983, Darius Rainey 45.90 - 2022).


Girls 800m

Nicole Humphries (Flower Mound) The junior can run it all and at the state meet, she did that when she ran the 800m, 1600m, and the 3200m. However, in this meet, she was able to focus on the 800m. She had a season best of 2:10.06 and a 2:08.30 lifetime best. She put together laps of 1:03.18 and 1:03.62 for a 2:06.69 new PR for fifth place.

Boys 110H

Arveyon Davis (Fort Bend Marshall), the UIL 5A state champion and Texas A&M signee ran a 13.73 into a -0.5 head wind. Davis had an urgent finish to pull of for third place overall.

Donovan Bradley (Humble Summer Creek) was the UIL 6A runner-up this season and the California Berkley signee was able to get up for a sixth place finish despite what looked like a flare up in his hamstring.

Middle School 800m

Cooper Lutkenhaus of Justin, Texas ran a meet record with a fantastic 1:54.20 half mile. Lutkenhaus ran 56.81 and 57.38 splits to produce his meet record and personal best performance.

Jeremy Gaitan (Houston, Texas) was third with a time of 2:00.92. Gaitan ran even splits of 1:00.01 and 1:00.89.

Girls Middle School Mile

In an unbelievably fast race where the winner ran 4:49, a few Texas girls were able to strut their stuff againsts some of the best middle schoolers.

Elin Latta from the San Antonio area was able run splits of 1:17, 1:14, 1:15, and 1:12 to earn a 5:00.04 performance. Riona Street from the Houston area finished 12 with a time of 5:10.16 thanks to splits of 1:18, 1:15, 1:18, and 1:17. Another Latta family member placed 15th  in 5:11.
