Ernest Campbell further cemented his legacy in this history books with another win in the 100-meter dash. With the win, the Refugio senior and Texas A&M committ is now a four-time state champion in the event.
It wasn't won from the start, but through 50 meters, it was all Campbell with a winning time of 10.49.
Thorndale's Carson McCoy bested last year's bronze medal with a silver medal and a time of 10.73. The senior used a final push in the last 20 meters to secure the runner-up spot.
Taking third was Ryelan Morris from Honey Grove. The sophomore finished fifth last year but claimed the final podium spot by just .05 seconds.

Huston Powers move through the halfway point of the 2A boys 400-meter dash was enough to put him in front of the field. Despite being hounded down the backstretch by last year's silver medalist in Refugio's Jason Moore, the Crawford senior prevailed.
Powers took the win with a staggering time of 49.05 over Moore who crossed in 49.54.
Jacob Swierc of Falls City bested last year's seventh place finish with a spot on the podium this year. The senior turned in a time of 49.67.

Through roughly 180 meters, it was a tightly contested race between a trio of competitors.
But in the end, it was Thorndale's Carson McCoy with the last laugh. The senior picked up his second medal of the day to close out career with a winning time of 21.86.
Ryelan Morris also picked up another medal. The sophomore from Honey Grove, who took third in the 100-meter dash, finished just behind with a second place time of 21.97.
Bruceville Eddy's Tyrrell Horne won the final podium spot with a time of 22.0
