2A Girls 4x100m
Refugio was the reigning gold medalist and came in with the fastest time of 48.05, which was faster than what they ran last year to win the gold medal in 2023.
Falls City were first at the first exchange with Clarksville not too far behind. On the backstretch, it was Panhandle and Refugio trying to make up the stagger and then for the final exchange it was Panhandle that handed off first with Refugio a close second.
All four battled it out coming down the homestretch with Panhandle crossing first with a time of 47.98, second place was Refugio with a time of 48.23 and the bronze medal went to Falls City with a time of 48.39.
2A Girls 4x200m
In lane seven was Stamford, the gold medalist in last year's state meet and beside them in lane six was Refugio who came in today with the fastest qualifying time from regionals with a time of 1:41.76, which is faster than the 2A state meet record of 1:41.99 and next to them in lane five was Panhandle who came in as last year's silver medalist.
We had a clean start with Refugio taking out hard and making up the stagger before the first exchange and did indeed hand off first with Panhandle right behind them. Stamford handed off first on the next exchange with Refugio not far behind.
Falls City won the last exchange and Refugio was coming for them but had a bobble on the last exchange. Falls City ended up pulling away coming down the homestrech and won the gold medal with a time of 1:42.38 as Stamford had a mad kick at the end to pass Refugio for the runner up position with a time of 1:43.95. Refugio was narrowly beat and finished with a time of 1:43.97 for the bronze.

2A Girls 4x400m
Stamford in lane five came into the 2024 state meet with the fastest time of 3:59.12 from the regionals and also the 2023 bronze medalist.
In lane seven was Panhandle the reigning silver medalist. Stamford and Panhandle were going to battle it out coming into this race with very fast times.
They were moving through the first four hundred with the first handoff going to Stamford and Goldthwaite in lane four challenging wanting to make their presence known. It was Panhandle coming through 800 with a time of 1:59.24 and Goldthwaite along with Crawford rounding out the top three.
Crawford moved into first with 400m to go. Goldthwaite and Panhandle were close behind. Watch out for Goldthwaite, they took the lead on the backstretch after the final exchange and the anchor leg took off like a bullet.
Second through fourth place tried their best to catch her but that wasn't going to happen and Goldthwaite captured the gold in a dominant fashion with a time of 3:56.40. Panhandle hung on for second place with a time of 3:58.98 and Stamford came back to grab the bronze with a time of 4:00.08.
