2A Girls 100 Hurdles
In lane five it was the defending gold medalist from 2023 Lainey Jernigan, a senior from Goldthwaite who also had the fastest qualifying time with a 14.74.
It was a clean start and very tight across the line with Jernigan in the center of the track leading from start to finish. She had a great start and it was nearly a flawless race for Jernigan hitting no hurdles into a -0.6 headwind.
Jernigan crossed the line for the gold with a time of 14.34 and a season's best, Anyya Mitchell a junior from Lovelady captured the silver with a time of 14.69 and the bronze was won by Hope Hermesmeyer, a senior from Goldthwaite with a time of 14.93.

2A Girls 300 Hurdles
Lainey Jernigan a senior from Goldthwaite who won the 100m hurdles earlier today is also your reigning state champion from last year in this event. She came in today with the second fastest time of 43.83.
The fastest time from regionals belonged to Panhandle freshman, Carly Land with time of 43.15 which is faster than the 2A state meet record 43.70.
Clean start for this race with Land coming out quick and gliding over the first three hurdles in first place. Jernigan wasn't about to be left behind and was right beside Land until they came to hurdle five.
The two would battle over hurdle six and then Jernigan the reigning champion pulled away to secure her second gold medal today with a time of 42.82 and a new conference 2A record. Land would finish second with a time of 43.43 and Kaylee Hunt a junior from Hico captured the bronze medal with a time of 44.24.
