The Sea Rim Striders meet got off to a
biting start Saturday morning. The course, a one mile loop, was run on an old
motocross course on
Pleasure
Island
in
Lake
Sabine
.The mosquitoes were horrendous
before and during the races.It was
a task just to photograph the race even with repellent.It was windy and footing was good. The
5A-4A Boys got things started with
Bridge
City
taking first with nineteen points.They
were led by Aaron Brannen with a time of
16:16
.
Nederland
took second with seventy-seven points and were led
by an 8th place finish by Dylan Fairley with a time of
17:37
.A team from
Iowa
,
Louisiana
was third with eighty-five points and were led by
Wade Trahan with a second place time of
16:46
.
In the 5A-4A Girls it was
Nederland
in first with thirty-one points.
Dayton
was second with fifty-four and P.A. Memorialthird with ninety-one.First
place finisher was Mailaika Tezeno of Port Neches with

, she was followed by Chelsea Yaws of
Nederland

, Emily Beagle of
Nederland
rounded out the top three with a time of

Girls
Bridge
City
took first with thirty points.They
were led by a surprising third place finish of Ashley Ellis with

finished second with sixty-eight and was led by the second place finish of
Jennifer Lavalley with

was the top finisher for the 3A Girls with a time of

3A Boys saw Huffman Hargrove finish first
with seventy-four points.They were
led by third place finisher Chris Jones with
