RECAP: Canutillo XC Invitational

Canutillo XC Inv. Meet Results

The Canutillo XC Inv. had some eye-popping results on both the girls and boys sides. It was clearly one of the top meets in the El Paso area that included teams like Eastwood, El Paso High, Americas, Coronado, Burges, Austin, Pebble Hills and others.

The CCCAT NO. 5 ranked El Paso Eastwood boys showed why they are so highly thought of. They were led by all-state performer Aidan Danny Torres who ran 14:40 to win the meet overall.

The Troopers got an additional power punch from sophomore Noah Loweree who only had a 17:02 PR coming into the season. He went 15:18 to take third place with senior Marcos Madrid in 15:30 and Luke Cruz in 15:31. Jacob DeSantos added a 15:44 run to bring Eastwood's totals to 15:21 for the team average and 1:04 for the 1-5 split.

Torres' win in 14:40 and Loweree's 15:18 third place run weren't the only big marks from the race.

Miles Westbrook (El Paso), Diego Romero (Americas), and Humberto Serna (Coronado) all rounded out the top five placers.

Westbrook had a fantastic race that produced a sub 15-minute performance in 14:55 for second place. Romero, a 2023 state meet individual qualifier finished fourth in 15:18 and Serna was fifth with a time of 15:21.

Also with an impressive race was Adelynn Rodriguez (El Paso Eastwood).

The senior Trooper ran 17:15, which is extremely fast. She outdistanced the nearest runner by two-minutes and sixteen-seconds.

Rodriguez had a great start to the 2025 track season. She ran personal records in the 1600 and 3200 meters to win two bronze medals at the UIL 6A state track and field meet. With this fast start, Rodriguez is definitely in the running for the UIL 6A individual state title.
