McNeil Invitational Coverage

The reigning and defending UIL 4A state champion Addyson Bristow rolled to a 11:19 win at the McNeil Invitational.

She got out to a good start and never really looked back. She extended her lead as the race played out until she was all alone at the finish line.

It was at this very park, on a slightly different course where Bristow won her first cross country state title last November.

Canyon teammates Avery Brown and Crickette Morris ran 11:45 and 11:47 and were fourth and fifth to help Canyon win the race.

Kenli Atwood (Holliday) is one of the 3A girls favorites was second with a time of 11:27 and Rilyn Grona (Fredericksburg) was third in 11:40. Cade Harris (Salado) was the final runner under 12-minutes.
