2023 Region 4-4A Girls Championship Race
Can you believe it? The Regional Championships are here.
It seems just like yesterday, the big September invitational races were just here and we were in awe with how fast things were. I would think and sometimes write and say that things were all good or not looking as great as though.....but none of it mattered.
Now, we are right in the middle of consequential running and outcomes and things actually do matter now.
The time for experimenting is over for most. The chance of having a bad race day will be at a high cost.
As devastating and negative as that may seem, it is also the best time of the season. We get to see how preparation meets execution and the development of runners and teams, which is what this sport is about.
As some have already been eliminated at the district level and that includes some teams and athletes from some districts who could place at their respective state meet; we get to watch the road to the UIL State Championships play ...
