2024 Texas A&M Bluebonnet Inv. girls 300-meter hurdle finals

Texas A&M Bluebonnet Invitational
The girls and boys hurdle events this weekend are loaded with state meet returners and some of this year's top performers.
The boys events have returning state champions and both girls events are loaded with girls who were in Austin or at the SPC and TAAPS championships.
Here are some of the athletes who have our attention heading into the meet.


Layni Kaase (College Station)
Girls 100-meter hurdles
Zoe Williams (Mont Belvieu Barbers Hill) is the top ranked hurdler in the state with her 13.98 from the 2025 Barbers Hill Eagle Relays. She placed seventh at last year's UIL 5A state meet.
Williams isn't the only returner from last year's UIL state meet. Naomi Booker (Tomball) ran a 13.93 PR last year and finished fourth at the UIL 6A state meet.
Layni Kaase (College Station) finished third at the UIL 5A state meet and ran a 13.91 on the season. Chiora Enyinna-Okeigbo (Sunnyvale) also placed third at the UIL 4A state meet in the 300s.

Adebola Iyiola (Richmond George Ranch) - Has run 14.30 this season; No. 7 in the state
Kristian Coleman (Duncanville) - Has run 14.32 this season; No. 11 in the state
Graycen Rabel (The Woodlands) - Has run 14. 43 this season; No. 15 in the state
Aryssa Rodriguez (La Porte) - Has run 14.50 this season; No. 20 this season

Boys 110-meter hurdles
Swayde Griffin (Lago Vista) is one of two defending state champions in this field. He had a 13.68 (w) PR on the year heading into his UIL 4A state meet win. DeVonte Taylor (Houston Episcopal) is the defending SPC state champion in the 110s. This season he has run 14.02 for a number seven ranking.
Bradley Lowman (Stafford) has a 13.86 (w) PR from last season; he was third at the UIL 4A state meet. Philip Reed (Plano East) was seventh at the UIL 6A state meet in the 110s. He ran a 13.98 (w) PR; this season he is ranked 18th with a time of 14.37.
Nolan Bartley (Humble Atascocita) is ranked No. 4 in the state this season. He ran 13.97 (+1.2) last week at the Generation Park T&F Invitational.

Lailah Hudson (Shadow Creek)
Girls 300-meter hurdles
Several state meet hurdlers from 2024 are in this field. Lailah Hudson (Shadow Creek) placed fourth last year in the UIL 6A race and Kelcy Horace (Garland Lakeview Centennial) was fifth.
Layne Kaase (College Station) placed third at the UIL 5A race and Aryssa Rodriguez (La Porte) was sixth. Janey Baker (China Spring) placed fourth in the UIL 4A race.

Boys 300-meter hurdles
We've made mention of Devonte Taylor (Houston Episcopal) in two of our previews already. That is because the guy can run. He won two hurdle SPC titles last season and the 38.97 run in the 300s were a PB. That was until he ran 36.81 last week.
Andrew Jones (Klein Collins) Owen Langdon, Philip Reed (Plano East), and Timothy Thomas II were all UIL 6A state meet competitors in the 300s last year. Jones took third place and ran a 36.75 PR to win the Texas Relays. Langdon was fourth with a time of 37.23, Reed was sixth with a 37.95 PR and has run 38.61 so far this year.
Timothy Thomas II (The Woodlands College Park) currently has the third best time of the season. He ran 37.53 last weekend at the Cain Relays.
