The District championships are just around the corner and the treks for state championships are about to begin for all of the UIL classifications. We are all constantly wanting to know how things look in terms of who will win individual and team state titles.

Analysis After Field Events

The field events could be a deciding factor in the UIL 6A girls team championship picture.

Teams like back-to-back state champions Duncanville look to get some momentum in points and the Panthers could have a total of eight to 10 points going into the track events. 

Shadow Creek, Humble Summer Creek, and Waxahachie are going to get some points, but could find themselves behind the eight ball if things go as well for teams like Katy Seven Lakes and Humble Atascocita. Atascocita looks like they will try to put the championship to bed in the field events and could give themselves room for error from their possible field event scoring.

Lancaster, who is expected to be big scorers in the sprints and relays, could find themselves far behind Katy Seven Lakes and more importantly with Atascocita who can possibly both go tit-for-tat with them in the relays and sprints.

Team Champions - Humble Atascocita - 82 points
Team runner-ups - Lancaster - 58 points
Third place finishers - Shadow Creek - 54 points

According to our crystal ball, Humble Atascocita possibly comes out of the field events with plus 20 points and they finish over 20 points ahead of Lancaster for the team title. That is just how precious their throws and jumps will be to their winning chances.

If they have enough legs after the jumps, that will be a key as the relays almost a wash when it comes to points for the top four or five teams. We all know that there are a lot of things that can go wrong in terms of relays and sprinting, so this will be one of the best overall team races to watch.

Back-to-back state champions Duncanville are once again in the mix. They'll have to make the most of their relay opportunities and if you've watched them in the past years, when they are locked in, there is little that can derail them. They can potentially have more individual qualifiers in the field events, hurdlers, and possibly even in the sprint events.

At an epic level, Lancaster is very explosive in the sprints and relays. However, they'll have to have help. There is a high possibility they'll have runners in the 100m, 200m, and 400m and getting points will be key.

The deciding factor for them will be the qualifying season. They'll battle Duncanville, Waxahachie, and DeSoto from district through the end. At the Region 2-5A meet, they'll have Cypress Ranch,
