The first leg of a Houston St. John's relay gets a start at the 2025 Victor Lopez Classic

Sophia Cormier (Houston Episcopal) is dominating the 2025 Texas outdoor track and field season with her exceptional performances in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. Cormier leads the state in the 100-meter dash with a blistering time of 11.82, achieved during the Texas Relays on March 28-29, 2025, where she finished 6th in the finals despite a strong headwind of 3.4 m/s.
She also tops the rankings in the 200-meter dash, having clocked an impressive 25.22 seconds at the St. John's Maverick Relays in late February, where she earned 1st place. With these standout results early in the season, Cormier is setting the bar high for the competition in Texas high school track and field.
