In a thrilling finish to the 2025 UIL Boys 3A 1600-meter final, Noah Strohman of Holliday claimed his third gold medal of the day with a masterful performance, clocking 4:25.48. Showing patience and tactical brilliance, Noah stayed tucked in the pack early, conserving energy while others briefly surged to the front. Despite running two previous races that day, Noah kept his composure as the field bunched up through the middle laps, waiting for the right moment to strike. With 200 meters to go, he unleashed a ferocious kick, running a blistering 57-second final lap to seal the win, proving once again why he's one of Texas' premier distance runners.
Behind him, his teammate and twin brother Ryder Strohman ran a gutsy race of his own, surging in the final lap to overtake Mario Luna of Vanguard Rembrandt for second place in 4:26.48. Luna, who had moved up smartly into second with two laps to go after placing third in the 3200 earlier, fought hard but ultimately settled for third in 4:26.59 as the Strohman brothers' late surge was too strong. Kason Miles of Winona rounded out the top four, while Jose Barrera of San Diego closed fast to snag fifth. Notably, Grayson Williams of Troy, who had led through the opening 400 before a stumble, bravely finished the race despite fading to ninth. Noah's final gear change in the last lap turned a tactical race into a decisive victory, capping a spectacular day for the Holliday standout.
