The TAPPS girls' cross country season is beginning to take shape, and a few young talents are already making headlines over two miles. Sophia Belcher (Grapevine Faith Christian) set the early standard with an 11:39.20 at the Friday Night Hawk Invite, while Dani Shelfo (TMI Episcopal) responded a week later by winning the SMH Invitational in 11:56.04. Right behind her, freshman Ellie Scott (San Antonio Saint Mary's Hall) impressed with an 11:58.25 to grab second. With times like these in August, it's clear the next wave of TAPPS distance standouts is already making its presence felt.
