Girls compete in the 2022 Elite Girls Invitational
On Friday, the 2025 Nike South Invitational will go down in College Station at the Texas A&M Dale Watts Cross-Country course. It will mark the first time the event will not be held in The Woodlands at Bear Branch Park.
The 2022 Nike South Invitational Elite Girls' race had some iconic girls' runners in it. In all, there were four girls in the race who would win UIL state championships at one point in time. Today, several of the top girls in that race are in college, specifically running at UT, A&M, Oregon, and more. However, there is one runner who was in the middle of that top pack who is still in high school and so far has won the past two UIL 6A cross-country state championships (Macy Wingard), who would finish fifth in that race as a freshman.
Madison Peters, of Pearland, won the Elite Girls race with a time of 17:06 by a narrow 2-second margin over Isabel Conde De Frankenburg (17:08), Nicole Humphries (178:09), and with Samantha Humphries just a bit off the pace in 17:11.
