Nike South was as great as advertised. Rachel Johnson had a great season debut and Craig Lutz continued his march towards defending his titles he earned last year.
University of Texas Verbal committment Craig Lutz took the race by the horns. He raced to an early 4:40 first mile as he broke his own meet record running 14:55. The course was laid out differently this year as it was basically 3 one mile loop. Lutz made a statement that he is the man to beat not only in Texas but also in the US. Brian Gohlke looked very good today also running a solo 2nd. Craig Nowak raced very well also placing third . The team race was very close. Southlake Carrol took home the title with a one point victory over host The Woodlands. The Woodlands were missing 2 of their top runners. Kingwood and Marcus placed 3rd and 4th seperated by only 1 pt.
