Looking to bring home to the Lone Star State, Belcher is coming in to run both the 800m and mile double.
She is looking to improve on closing her junior year on a great note, coming off of this year's TAPPS State Championships, where she won the 800m, clocking a time of 2:15.23, and earning silver in the 1600m, clocking 5:03.88.
This is going to be the time for Belcher to shine when the lights are bright under the Milton Frank Stadium, she is running section 2 in the 800m on Friday, May 22nd, and section 3 of the mile.
Closing out the UIL Texas championship season, Smith has been on a high with her breakout season, earning silver in both the 3200m and 1600m at last week's UIL state meet. Entering her junior season, she was on the JV team last year as a sophomore for the outdoor season. Now she is a completely new and improved runner who is going to have a great senior-year campaign next year, with new PRs of 10:33.12 in the 3200m and 4:49.89 in the 1600m.
Coming into the postseason championship races, Smith is entered in both the 3200m and mile championship races set to go in the late evening.
The 3200m is the first race of the weekend for Smith, and if she was three seconds off her pr at last week's state meet in the 3200m with some howling winds on the back stretch, the sky is the limit for Smith with a star-studded field
The future UW Huskie is coming off the UIL Texas championship with additional medals and is looking to finish her senior year on a very high note, building on her performances from last week's UIL State meet. Cragnolino earned bronze in the 3200m and silver in the 1600m.
Entering this year's Runninglane meet, Cragnolino enters the meet with pr's of 10:30.45 for the 3200m and 4:48.10 in the 1600m, and is looking to shave off time from those times before entering her freshman year at UW.
The future Red Raider is coming off a stellar UIL state championship season. Closing out her last two races in a Rangers uniform, Koening closed her last two races in both the 3200m and 1600m with two gold medals in the conference 5A state meet.
Leading into this year's Runninglane meet, Koening is coming in with just one event, the mile on Saturday night. Will having fresh legs for the mile benefit Koening and affect the rest of the field?
Looking to end her high school career on a high note, she is coming in with a pr in the 1600m with a time of 4:53.62 and 4:58.60 for the full mile distance.
The second future Red Raider in the bunch is coming in all the way from El Paso. Orr is coming in off a great UIL championship season, finishing fourth place in a great field last Saturday morning in the 3200m.
Leading into the meet, Orr is scheduled to race in both the championship 3200m race and section three in the girls' mile race.
With this being the final stretch for Orr, she has PRs of 10:37.90 in the 3200m, 4:58.18 in the 1600m, and 5:00.63 in the full mile.
The Houston native is bringing her foot speed to the Runninglane championships, looking to do the 800m and mile distance double.
Peterson is looking to improve on her UIL state turnout from last week in the 1600m with her fifth-place finish. If her mile race comes out to be tactical, it will most certainly play in her favor; she has closed the 400m of 1600m races in sub-70 seconds multiple times.
Leading into the meet, Peterson has an impressive resume with Pr's of 2:10.59 in the 800m, 4:52.24 for the 1600m, and 4:53.85 for the full mile distance.
Ever since the Latta sisters entered the high school scene, Iris Latta has been the front runner of the bunch and carried the Latta torch with her national qualifying resume.
This weekend, she is entered in just the mile race on Saturday. Having impressive Pr's in both the 3200m and 1600m, Latta is looking to improve on her Pr in the mile race in a nationally ranked field.
Coming into the meet, Latta has an impressive 1600m Pr of 4:48.51. Having fresh legs for the mile will certainly play in her favor from the rest of the field, who have already had some races under their belt over the weekend.
Having a family as dedicated to the game as the Latta family must certainly help when each one of your sisters is constantly pushing you day in and day out of practice. Being in the Latta house may feel like there is a lot on your plate, but for Remy she is slowly closing in on her sister Iris.
This weekend, Remy is one of the top Lone Star milers in the championship mile race on Saturday night.
As Latta is closing out her sophomore season, she is definitely moving up in the Texas all-time greats leader boards in the distance events, especially with her 1600m Pr being an impressive 4:47.57. Having fresh legs like her sister Iris, the two are looking to perform on the big stage at Milton Frank Stadium under the lights.
