Texas private school track and field produced plenty of standout performances this season, from state champions to record-setting point scorers. But two athletes separated themselves from the pack with the way they competed across multiple events and delivered when it mattered most.
Boys: Graham Freeman, Tomball Rosehill Christian

Graham Freeman of Tomball Rosehill Christian capped his senior season with one of the most decorated finishes in school history.
At the TAPPS State Track and Field Championships, Freeman scored all 35 of Rosehill Christian's points, lifting the program to an eighth-place finish among 32 Class 4A schools. Rosehill Christian finished one point behind Trinity Christian Willow Park for seventh place and seven points from sixth.
Freeman earned TAPPS 4A State Athlete of the Meet honors after a versatile showing across five events. He also was named the 4A South Regional Athlete of the Meet.

At state, Freeman won the 400 meters in 48.04 seconds and the long jump with a mark of 22 feet, 5 inches. He finished third in the pole vault at 14-6 and third in the 200 in 22.37 seconds. He also placed sixth in the 100 in 11.26.
Freeman scored 26.5 points at the 2025 state meet before returning with an even stronger performance as a senior.
On June 4-5, Freeman competed in the John Greene Texas Greatest Athlete competition, a multi-event showcase, and finished second in the decathlon with 6,501 points.

Girls: Mary Taylor, Bellaire Episcopal

Mary Taylor of Bellaire Episcopal closed her high school career with 13 gold medals in state meet competition.
Taylor, one of the Southwest Preparatory Conference's top athletes over the past two seasons, won four gold medals in both 2025 and 2026. She also helped lead Episcopal to its third consecutive SPC 4A girls track and field team championship.
Her final state meet was another dominant performance. Taylor scored 49 points across six events, the maximum number allowed under SPC rules.
Taylor swept the horizontal jumps for the third consecutive year, including her fourth straight title in the triple jump. She recorded a personal-best mark of 39 feet, 1 inch in the event. She also won her third individual gold medal in the 100 hurdles and ran the second leg on Episcopal's winning 4x100 relay.

Taylor added a second-place finish in the 300 hurdles for the second consecutive season after winning the event as a sophomore. She also scored six points in the high jump, an event she won as a freshman.
Taylor will continue her track and field career at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The Ragin' Cajuns add a versatile athlete to their program under head coach Tommy Badon.
